Structure and Architecture of Ancient Egypt

In ancient times, the Egyptians called the desert the "red land", distinguishing it from the flood plain around the Nile River, called the "black land". These colors reflect the fact that the desert sands have a reddish hue and the land around the Nile turned black when the annual flood waters receded.

In Ancient Egypt, The Nile river played an important role as it provided them with food, transportation and more. The Nile River is the longest river in the world. It is 4100 miles long and it flows through many countries including Egypt, Sudan, Ectopia and so on.
